Crystals are made from lead glass that has been cut by hand or machine to produce facets. Lead crystal is crystal with lead oxide added in its molten stage during the manufacturing process. This process gives crystal a much higher index of refraction or ‘sparkle’. The presence of lead also makes the crystal softer and easier to cut. Lead crystals may consist of up to 35% lead, and anything beyond this concentration makes the crystal difficult to form.

K9 Lead Crystal also called Optical Crystal consists of 24 to 28% lead. This is the best type of commercially used lead crystal. Other types depend on the percentage of lead; K5 has less lead, then K4 and K3 until the point of regular glass.

At Gift Mart International we use the best K9 lead crystal and import the raw materials from Germany in blocks of 16 x 36 x 36 cm. These blocks are then processed in our factory in China. We have full potential to make any customized design.

Customized design is done in many methods: screen printing, chemical etching, sand blasting, laser etching (on the surface) and laser engraving (inside) both in 2D and 3D.

The best and most difficult method is the Sand blasting, but it gives the best results. Laser engraving comes in second, but this process also gives a unique look.
